How do I burn a DVD that can be used on a Windows computer?

iDVD will produce a video DVD that can be played on anything.

iDVD will burn an executable disk. You can use that on anycomputer, or even dvd players.
Or, export the file to an executable which you can then store on a dvd or cd and play on a windows computer.
What files are you attempting to burn?
Executable?? That term is not used in the Mac world, and I for one have no idea what you mean.
I'm pretty sure the iMovie exports to .mov files. Mainly, I want to know what he plans on doing with the file to find the best solution for him. Maybe executable is not used, thats just my term for something that stands alone. I must have it wrong.
May I suggest that you actually familiarise yourself with iMovie before making such statements?
iMovie can export (convert) files to a variety of other formats, depending on to what use they will be put.
I understand iMovie. I understand the formats it can export to. What I don't know is what he plans on doing with it so we can make a decision on which format he wants. The statement i used that you found incorrect was the term "executable" which either you don't understand, or I am using incorrectly. Either way that has nothing to do with my knowledge of iMovie, and there is no need to create difficulties while trying to help this guy out.
